At Ebenau, we believe that good packaging does more than just protect or present a product. Packaging also has an impact on raw materials, transport, recycling, and a product's entire life cycle.
With every packaging solution, we look beyond just shape and functionality and search for ways to present products optimally. We do this while simultaneously reducing material usage and promoting circularity.
The way of thinking, we call it The Present Principle.
A practical approach with which we develop packaging that not only works today but also fits into a more sustainable chain. The Present principle consists of three starting points.
1. Present with less
Less material, smarter design
The first step towards more sustainable packaging begins with the design. By designing packaging more intelligently, it's often possible to save a significant amount of material.
At Ebenau, we therefore critically examine the construction of every tube or packaging. Through reduced wall thicknesses, efficient shapes and well-thought-out specifications, we can limit material usage without compromising on quality or functionality.
Lighter packaging means fewer raw materials, less transport weight, and ultimately a lower CO₂ impact within the supply chain.
2. Present more effectively
Conscious choice of materials
Besides using less material, we also look at better materials. More and more companies are opting for packaging made from recycled or renewable raw materials.
Within Ebenau's range, we offer, amongst other things:
- aluminium tubes that are infinitely recyclable
- plastic tubes with PCR-materials (post-consumer recycled plastics)
- bio-HDPE plastics based on sugarcane
- innovative paper tubes
- Other packaging with high-value, sustainable materials
These materials make it possible to develop packaging with a lower ecological footprint, without compromising on functionality or appearance.
3. Presented in a circular system
Packaging that can be returned to the chain
The future of packaging lies in circularity. That's why we are increasingly developing solutions that are easier to recycle.
A key example of this is mono-material tubes or packaging. In this case, the entire packaging consists of one type of plastic, which makes recycling considerably easier.
In combination with recycled materials and smart material choices, these solutions contribute to a more efficient and sustainable material flow.
