The history of Ebenau
Ebenau's history dates back to the first production of tubes in the Netherlands in the early twentieth century. From that foundation, Ebenau has grown into a specialist in aluminium and plastic packaging for various sectors.
Over the years, the company has grown alongside market changes, new materials, and customer demand. What has always remained the same: personal contact, collaborating with customers, and delivering packaging that works.
Ebenau's origins lie with the Deventer Algemene Industriële Maatschappij (DAIM), founded in 1903. This company produced, among other things, crown corks, bottle closures, and tubes.
From 1908, tubes were made of lead and tin for technical and pharmaceutical applications. After the Second World War, aluminium became the main material for tubes.
In 1948, J. Ebenau became sales manager of the tube division. From this role, the foundation for the company that would later bear his name was established.
When the DAIM's tube department was finally closed, J. Ebenau decided to continue independently. In 1975, Ebenau BV was established.
The company focused on aluminium tubes for various sectors, including the food, cosmetic, industrial, and pharmaceutical markets.
In the years that followed, demand for supplementary packaging for the pharmaceutical sector, such as medicine bottles, tablet vials, aluminium cans and screw caps, also grew. This further expanded the product range.
From the 1980s onwards, demand for plastic tubes increased sharply, particularly within the cosmetics sector. Aluminium, however, remained important for many pharmaceutical applications.
To respond to these developments, the product range was expanded to include plastic tubes.
In 2008, Ebenau BV was acquired by Arthur Frank, who had been involved with the company for many years as a client and partner.
Under Arthur Frank's leadership, Ebenau grew into a supplier of millions of packages per year for various sectors. The sales territory was expanded to Europe and the Caribbean.
After his retirement in 2024, the company was taken over by Joris Teurlings, who has a background in pharmaceutical packaging and logistics.
The company moved to Asten in North Brabant, where in 2025 the fiftieth anniversary of Ebenau BV was celebrated and the foundation was laid for further growth.
